Rooted in Cameroon, Growing for Cameroon
About Us
SDI was born from a simple but powerful observation. Cameroon’s smallholder farmers possessed incredible knowledge and dedication, but lacked access to modern techniques, fair markets, and supportive resources.
In 2025, a group of agricultural engineers, community leaders, and development experts came together with a shared vision: to build an organization that would work alongside farmers, not just for them.
What began as community meetings under mango trees in Bamenda has grown into a respected local NGO serving thousands across the Northwest and Southwest Regions. Our journey reflects our core belief: sustainable change happens when communities lead and organizations listen.
Our Vision
To contribute to building thriving agricultural communities where farmers have access to improved technology and resources that ensure food security and sustainable economic growth for present and future generations of Cameroon.
Our Mission
To empower local farmers with innovative skills, sustainable practices, and access to resources that will be used to improve agricultural production and productivity.
Our Goal
To promote sustainable agriculture and rural community development through capacity building, support, resource mobilization, advocacy, planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

How We Work: The ISDI Way
Community-Led Participatory Approach
We believe communities know their needs best. Every program begins with dialogue, consultation, and partnership with local stakeholders. From planning to evaluation, community voices guide our work.
Gender Mainstreaming
Gender equality isn't an add-on—it's integrated into everything we do. We ensure at least 50% participation of women in all programs and design activities to address specific barriers women farmers face.
Environmental Sustainability
Every intervention considers environmental impact. We promote agroforestry, soil conservation, and climate-smart practices that protect Cameroon's natural resources for future generations.
Local Capacity Building
We don't just deliver services—we build skills. Our training programs empower farmers to become trainers themselves, creating a ripple effect of knowledge throughout communities.
Principles That Guide Us
Dignity & Respect
Every farmer deserves dignity and respect. We value traditional knowledge while introducing innovative practices.
Inclusivity
We serve all community members—women, youth, IDPs, and vulnerable populations—with tailored approaches for each group.
Sustainability
Environmental, economic, and social sustainability guide every decision. We think in terms of generations, not just seasons.
Transparency
We're accountable to our farmers, donors, and partners. Regular reporting and open communication build trust.
